Muskari is aimed for babies and toddlers up to 3 years old. The parents always stay with their little ones during these sessions. Muskari starts at 10am, the first session involves singing of Finnish nursery rhymes, playing and sharing stories together. Feel free to bring your own cushion or blanket with you. There is a short break between sessions during which you are invited to join us in our cafe area to chat with other parents and enjoy some Finnish treats. The second session is held together with the 3 to 5 year olds. Children are invited to follow their own interest to play and do some arts and crafts.
Hi, my name is Emily, I teach the younger children's group, aged 3 to 5. I'm also the chairman of the Finnish school in Bristol. I'm a mum of three bilingual boys who have been coming to Finnish school since being born. I've been working as a primary school teacher in Bristol for 10 years. I am currently on maternity leave with the newest addition to the family. Being part of a Finnish community here in Bristol became really important to me as I became a mum and I wanted my children to have a place to communicate and socialise with other bilingual, Finnish children. I am passionate about learning through play and I believe that learning Finnish should be fun and exciting. I feel lucky to be part of such a lovely and welcoming Finnish community here in Bristol. I am looking forward to seeing familiar faces and getting to know new families this academic year.
